Welcome to our Federation

Being the best we can be; committed to making a difference.

West Berry Federation consists of two small, rural primary schools situated within 6miles of each other: Berrynarbor C of E Primary School and West Down Primary School.

We consistently encourage our children to be the very best they can be. Our federation vision focuses on nurturing children in the “stream”—building their confidence, compassion, and sense of belonging—before they move into the wider “ocean,” prepared to make a positive difference in the world. Although Berrynarbor is a Church of England school and our vision is shaped by theological inspiration, it remains fully inclusive and meaningful for both of our school communities. We want our children to grow into kind, confident, and active leaders who value one another and use their talents to flourish. Our staff are deeply committed to keeping every child safe.

We are incredibly proud of the community spirit that defines our federation and the strong sense of family we have built together. We regularly host events that warmly welcome members of the wider community into our school.

Our single governing body includes representatives from both communities, all of whom play a vital role in our ongoing success. Together, we work to maintain excellent communication, high-quality teaching, and an inclusive environment in which every member of our federation is valued and supported.

At West Berry Federation, we champion an inclusive approach to teaching, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and enjoy a rich and rewarding primary school experience with us.
